  • Affiliation: Silence Laboratories
  • Project Title: Co-location based Seamless Authentication for Mobility Services

About the Project

We designed a robust system aimed at verifying co-presence of two or multi-party systems by correlating acoustic information and sequence of event occurrences in IMU domain. This required creating a system that could be robust even in the noisy environment of streets. While noise surely helps to understand context verification, we also need to remove interferences from loud music, hustle of busy streets and mechanical sounds. Even in the noisy markets of India, the system was able to achieve accuracy of >92%. This system is now being implemented by cab-hailing services to verify the correct driver-passenger pair. The product is currently being tested by 5 companies present in India, U.A.E., Singapore and Indonesia.

After our partnership with a blockchain based ride hailing company, Drife, the is now being rolled out in the real-world. Read more about it here.
